This tutorial applies to Photo Impact Only.

OK, you created the perfect image or text for your web page, but when you insert the image, you wind up with something that looks like this:

So, how do we get ride of that annoying white background.....

Well if your using Photo Impact, it's simple......

Lets use some text as an example....

First create the image with the text in it.

Now use your selection tool

and select all the lines of text in the image. If you have more then one line, hold the Shift key down to select the other lines of text.

With all the lines of text selected, right click and select the Combine as a Single Object option.

Now from the menu bar select Web/Image Optimizer and this box will open

Pick Selected Objects Only. When the next box opens,

pick the Background Tab. If you have a backgound image you want to use, such as the custom textured background I'm using, scroll to the folder that has that file and select it.

Now save your image. This is what you should end up with:

As you can see, the background blends in perfectly with the text, even allowing the shadow we added to reflect onto it.
